They pride themselves on putting sustainability first while delivering high quality new build housing developments across the North of England.\n\nThe Project \n\nAs a highly experienced Estimator, you will play a key role as a part of the commercial team working across various large-scale residential developments on brownfield and regeneration sites, focused on delivering high-quality, affordable housing. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will track costs, revise estimates as required and collaborate with the team to ensure timely project completion within the allocated budget.\n\nBenefits\n\n26 days holiday per annum + bank holidays\nBonus scheme\nPrivate medical insurance\nCompany pension\nCompany car or car allowanceRequirements \n\nFor this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;\n\nIndustry relevant qualificationIt is also essential that you hold the experience below;\n\nPrevious experience of utlising COINS (desirable but not essential)\nExtensive experience within the industry with minimum of 5 years working in an Estimating role\nStrong background in groundworks, including remediation, foundations, retaining, drainage etc\nA demonstrated track record of working on various large-scale residential projects for a well-established contractorAdditional skills;\n\nAnalytical thinking\nStrong negotiation capabilities\nEfficient time management abilities\nA deep understanding of construction practices, regulations, and cost factors\nStrong communication abilities, written and verbal with an excellent attention to detail\nA solid understanding of construction methods and compliance with building regulations\nExtensive understanding of legal principles along with strong financial and commercial acumen\nProficient in utilising a computerised estimating / measurement system - Bluebeam or equivalent\nComprehensive knowledge of the estimating process, utilising computerised analytical tools to produce precise project cost estimates.The Role\n\nJob Title: Estimator\nJob Type: Permanent\nProject: Various large-scale residential developments on brownfield and regeneration sites\nLocation: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire\nReporting to: Commercial DirectorDuties\n\nCommercial reporting\nAssist with procurement\nSpecification analysis & review\nPreparation and submission of tenders\nAdjudicating tenders within agreed limits\nPreparing bill of quantity / pricing documentation\nReviewing enquiry returns / checking compliance\nReporting regularly and promptly to the Commercial Director\nManage the database of standard cost allowances to keep cost assumptions up to date\nProduce detailed and accurate viability assessments with a full breakdown of construction costs\nPrepare cost estimates for land acquisition, factoring in legal, purchase, and site elements-to evaluate project viability and inform regional planning\nStay current with local regulations and analyse comparable land sales and projects to ensure accurate cost estimates and assess market trends\nConduct site visits to identify potential constraints and factors that could influence the pricing strategy\nCoordinate with the technical and pre-development land teams, exploring innovative construction methods to reduce costs and value-engineer design solutions for greater cost efficiency\nProvide comprehensive financial appraisals for new land acquisitions and conduct cost and risk assessments for prospective sites\nLiaise with the finance team to monitor alignment between land cost estimates and the overall project budget and financial forecasts\nDeliver comprehensive cost estimation reports for the Commercial Director, detailing all expenses relation to land acquisition and development\nWork closely with the Commercial and Land Directors to assist in the preparation of gateway submissions, involving compiling and drafting regional land reports\nMaintain accurate records of all land-related estimates and cost projections for future reference, audits, and project assessmentsThis is a permanent position with an excellent salary on offer for the successful candidate.
