We are looking for a Graduate or someone that has some experience of politics to join our team. The UK & Europe Policy Executive will play a vital role in supporting the Public Affairs team. Reporting to the UK & Ireland Public Affairs Manager and working closely with the UK&I Head of Public Affairs, this role will involve contributing to public affairs activity in the UK and Ireland (50% of the time) and coordinating special public affairs and policy projects across Europe (50% of the time). This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and evolving sector. Key responsibilities Work with an external agency to deliver the ‘Pitching In’ MP visits, programmes and other related parliamentary and community events. Assist the Public Affairs Manager in organising responses to consultations from Government and the regulator ensuring full stakeholder input Promoting our player protection measures, including highlighting the impact of the black market to stakeholders Coordinating responses to trade body requests for data for economic contribution and impact reports Working on a shop visit programme for new MPs throughout GB and Ireland Writing regular internal updates on public affairs developments in the UK&I and potentially in Europe to ensure senior stakeholders are kept up to speed with events Supporting the UK Public Affairs manager on special European projects including sharing best practice research into problem gambling and updating the company’s safer gambling narrative on a country-by-country basis Assist the UK & Ireland Public Affairs Manager in delivering the company’s UK&I public affairs strategy. Specialist skills and experience Understanding of public affairs, policy, or regulatory environments, with an interest in the betting and gaming industry. Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to draft concise briefings and communications. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Well-organised and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines. A team player with a proactive and collaborative approach to work. Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes in the UK and Europe is highly desirable. Degree in Politics, Law, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). Previous experience in public affairs, policy, or government relations Familiarity with the UK and/or European legislative and regulatory landscape is an advantage.
