Home Enteral Nutrition and Community Nutrition Support-Paeds-Band 6
The post provides a Paediatric Home Enteral Nutrition and Nutritional Support service in the community, to some of our most vulnerable patients. It also covers general outpatient clinics to a range of Paediatric patients requiring dietetic support, conducted via telephone, video and face to face.
The post is suitable to dieticians with only minimal post-graduate experience as you will be given the opportunity to gain relevant experience and develop your knowledge and skills in community services and home enteral nutrition. You will be part of a friendly and dedicated team of dieticians and dietician assistants, whose aim is to provide an excellent, compassionate and cost effective service. The post provides home visits to those patients unable to attend a hospital appointment in addition to community based clinics.

Main duties of the job
1. To provide with other team members the home enteral nutrition (HEN) service to Adult and Paediatric patients in the community within Lincolnshire.
2. To have responsibility for providing a Home Enteral Nutrition Dietetic Service including domiciliary visits for Patients.
3. To provide training for patients, carers and staff members on Home Enteral Nutrition.
4. To Provide a dietetic service to the inpatient rehabilitation unit as required.
5. Cover for adult Rehabilitation, Head and Neck cancer, Stroke, Medical, Surgical work and Home Enteral Nutrition may also be required.
6. To contribute to the development and evaluation of the post.
7. To be compliant with relevant local and national standards.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* HCPC registration
* Training in palliative care.
* Training in counselling/behavioural Skills.
* Training in clinical supervisory Skills.
* Motivational interviewing skills/CBT.
* Dietetics in common paediatric disorders or a similar BDA course.
* Specialist post graduate training in nutritional support
Experience
* Relevant post registration and experience in Dietetic.
* Experience of providing nutritional support in a variety of complex Patients.
* Experience with enteral feeding via NG tubes, gastrostomy devices and Jejunal feeding.
* Previous experience in conducting audits.
* Previous experience of attending MDT meetings.
* Previous experience of Home Enteral Nutrition.
* Experience in delivering training Sessions.
* Experience in enteral feeding tube Management.
* Experience in extended role for enteral tube change.
Specific Requirements
* Must be eligible for enhanced DBS clearance.
