Job Description:
We are looking for a highly experienced Engineer to lead our growing Aero Correlation Team. In this role, you will lead a group of engineers to provide knowledgeable aerodynamic input to the Aero Correlation group, to build an understanding of the differences between various data sources (track, wind tunnel and CFD). We aspire to be the absolute best in every aspect of our team. Please note this role is based full time at our Silverstone office.
Main Responsibilities
1. Management and responsibility of the Aero Correlation Team.
2. Technical lead for the Aero Correlation group.
3. Provide the best information to build an understanding of the aerodynamic performance of the race car that enables higher confidence levels in delivering performance upgrades to the track.
4. Guiding the team in developing strategies to improve aerodynamic understanding.
5. Leading and implementing improved methods and tools for correlation between track data and Wind Tunnel/CFD data.
6. Leading the team in the development of innovative tools and strategies to improve the aerodynamic understanding of the car’s performance.
7. Managing the relationship between the Aero Correlation, Aero Development, Aero Test and CFD groups.
8. Maintain the relationship with other engineer groups (vehicle performance, race engineering).
9. Provide a flexible attendance and attitude to work, in line with the requirements for the role and specific project requirements.
Requirements
1. A minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in a similar role within the motorsport industry.
2. An excellent understanding of aerodynamics is required, with a keen attention to detail and must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
3. Well versed with Track, CFD and Wind Tunnel test techniques.
4. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
5. Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
6. Ability to line manage / lead teams effectively.
7. Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.
8. Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
9. Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
10. Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
