Ward 35 - Burns, Plastics, OMFS, ENT, Ophthalmology
An exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager to join our team within Health, Neck, Orthopaedics and Reconstructive Services has arisen. This is a secondment opportunity for Maternity leave cover. You will be fully supported with your development in this role and we welcome informal enquiries or visits to the ward for any queries you might have about your application or the post.
Ward 35 is an integral provision within Head, Neck, Orthopaedic and Reconstructive services and hosts several specialities, including:
1. Plastic Surgery
2. Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgery
3. Ear, Nose and Throat
The speciality is focused on high quality patient-centred care. Ward 35 is a 26-bedded ward and receives patients on elective and non-elective pathways.
The team within this service works efficiently and effectively at a fast pace to support both elective and non-elective surgery, diagnosis, intervention, and ultimately safe discharge.
Ward 35 is a busy and rewarding environment to work in. You will work alongside and will be supported by the Matron, Senior General Manager, Ward Sisters, and a full complement of Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates, Health Care Assistants, Military nursing colleagues, and Ward administration support to deliver excellence in patient care and experience. You will be supported to deliver key performance indicators and to lead your team compassionately to achieve excellence.
The role requires you to be flexible, resilient, and forward-thinking.

As the Ward Manager, you will be pivotal in leading the team in the delivery of enhanced holistic services and standards of care to our patients aligned to the South Tees Accreditation for Quality of Care (STAQC) principles.
As an integral part of the managerial team, you will be expected to demonstrate exceptionally diverse communication skills, have an aptitude for people management, and the professional competence to make informed decisions to effectively manage operational and clinical incidents, staffing issues, and effective bed utilisation throughout the directorate.
