The Community Recovery Team North, located in the London Borough of Hackney, is offering an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking and highly motivated Band 6 Nurse Recovery Worker (CPN) in our busy and stimulating multi-disciplinary service. We welcome all applications from Registered Mental Health Nurses with relevant skills and experience at Band 5 or above.
The advertised vacancy has become available due to promotional opportunities for existing staff members, with training and development being a core element of support within the team.

Afternoon registration: 12:30 - 13:15 pm (We will not accept candidates for the afternoon session after this time)

Role: Community Mental Health Nurse
The event is an all-day event. Candidates need to register for either the morning session or the afternoon session. Failure to register during the registration periods will mean inability to take part in the interview.
Main Duties of the Job
Within your monthly allocated workload, you will be required to carry a designated caseload of Service Users (CPA) and work within the Recovery Team duty system as part of a duty rota.
The role requires effective communication and an ability to liaise with a range of local social services or other mental health services (e.g., Home Treatment Team). You will therefore need to have applicable knowledge and experience within mental health services appropriate to meet the role requirements as defined within the Job Description.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification/Training
* RMN/RNMH Qualification.
* Evidence of regular updating in practice.
Experience
* Well-developed and suitable experience of working as a qualified RMN.
* Experience of completing full psycho-social assessments and writing reports.
* Suitable experience of working in a community mental health setting.
* Experience of nurse prescribing or willingness to consider undertaking training as part of professional development.
* Experience of working in a multi-cultural, inner-city area.
Knowledge and Skills
* The current legislation relating to Mental Health provision.
* The needs and rights of service users.
* Psychiatric problems and the social, psychological, and political dimensions of mental ill-health.
* Current models of working with people with serious mental health problems including psycho-social and recovery approaches.
* Current research and how this can inform practice.
* The major current issues in relevant health and social care.
* Appropriate knowledge of mental health medications and other relevant medicines required to undertake the role safely and effectively.
* Proficient in medicine administration/calculations.
* To engage with people with serious mental health problems in a holistic manner. To assess their needs, design and deliver appropriate interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of the process.
* To manage time, be self-motivated, and work both independently and as part of a team as required.
* An understanding of the principles and practice of Equal Opportunities and a commitment to work within that framework.
