SLD Teaching Assistant - Southport
Veritas Education Preston are looking to recruit full-time Teaching Assistants for a special educational needs college based in Southport.
The college supports pupils with severe learning disabilities, predominantly autism, non-verbal or limited verbal communication. The pupils need full support with all of their day-to-day needs, including school activities, personal care, and accessing the community. There is a high likelihood of behaviors that challenge in these phases.
They also support pupils whose pathway is access to GCSEs. The pupils are often challenged by high levels of anxiety and need support to access their GCSEs at a pace that suits them, while also being encouraged to participate in the community and learn independence skills.

* Previous experience supporting ASD, Down syndrome, and non-verbal learners
* Previous experience working with SEMH/BESD students and dealing with challenging behavior/classroom support (essential)
* Previous experience of nursery work (not essential)

All pay rates that are offered will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. Our working opportunities include temporary positions, permanent contracts, and ad-hoc supply.
