Salary: £11,154 per annum pro rata (£25,350 per annum - full time equivalent)

Location: The National Museum of the Royal Navy, based at the Portsmouth Harbour sites

We are recruiting a part-time Painter for our Portsmouth Harbour sites. Working within the Heritage and Strategic Programmes Team, this exciting role is focused on ensuring that our historic ships such as the iconic HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and our Listed buildings are well-maintained to ensure they are preserved for future generations to enjoy.
The work will be varied and rewarding, ranging from working at height from a platform, being part of a skilled and dedicated team, preparing and painting our historic ships, and buildings through to new exhibits, supporting contractors on site, and contributing to project teams.
All tools, materials and equipment will be provided including uniform and PPE.

Knowledge/Experience
You will be confident in preparing and painting historic materials such as timber, iron, steel, and historic internal surfaces.
You should have recent experience of project or large-scale works, with knowledge of different painting processes.
There is a regular requirement for working at height so a MEWP (mobile elevated work platform) license is essential so training will be provided.
As you will be working on Historic Ships and buildings in a multitude of different spaces, this will be a physically demanding role which will require manual handling daily.
