Ensure that quality standards and health and safety procedures are maintained in line with the relevant policy and carry out compliance monitoring to ensure the required levels are achieved.Primary responsibilities: Assist in developing the existing processes to increase flexibility and efficiency, therefore, reduce throughput timeProvide leadership to the factory team, manage new employee’s progression and ensure full training is givenManage and comply with procedures for holidays, absenteeism, induction, training and health & safetyHave knowledge of lead times for all products under their control and monitor stock daily and order items relevant to your departmentComply with health & safety legislation and ensure safe working practicesEnsure required items are manufactured and ready for dispatch to meet site delivery timesOversee repairs to the machinery and assist with problem-solving with regard to the machinery including software and computer issues within your departmentCarry out allocated daily and weekly safety checksGive a daily update to the Factory Manager and Operations Manager or his Deputy on absenteeism and progress output against the three-week manufacture plan.Manage bonus targets and produce the relevant paperwork for bonus payments. When required investigate why targets haven’t been met. Input daily the departmental operative’s bonus and hours onto a master spreadsheet. The Department Supervisor will be responsible for holding disciplinary meetings and dealing with any staffing problems in conjunction with the Factory Manager if appropriate. During the absence of the Factory, Manager takes overall responsibility for the security, fire prevention and general management of the building and personnelExperience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements, Education A Manufacturing background is required with JIT experience. Must be able to demonstrate managerial skills in terms of man management and process flow.Must be computer literate.
