Engineering Project Leader - 6 month FTC
Location: Stafford, Staffordshire
Pay: £32ph on a 37hr week - weekly pay.
Hybrid: 2 days minimum attendance (Tues / Thurs) in the Stafford Offices
GiPro (part of GiGroup Holding) is proud to partner exclusively with one of the most recognised global renewable energy businesses, who are on a mission to develop cutting-edge monitoring technologies, typically deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing the customer to understand and optimise the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers and other substation assets.
The right candidate would be tasked to plan overall design activities, manage project design budget, implement design change processes, supervise and coordinate all engineering activities required to execute the project, whether done in house or by suppliers/subcontractors, and ensure technical coordination of the Grid Solutions project.
Please note that this is a 6-month FTC, presenting the opportunity to be extended or taken on permanently.
The role:
1. Responsible for issuing consolidation of provisional drawing list of the project or of your work package, integrating submission dates.
2. Manage global time schedule of concerned engineering activities, check coherency of links between engineering activities and other project functions activities (procurement, construction, commissioning) and organise follow up of critical activities of the project or of your discipline.
3. Plan and manage delivery time of technical interfaces with your work package, put in place exchange interface sheets with partners, customer and third-party contractors.
4. Ensure on-time delivery of design to stakeholders with suitable quality including Partner documents.
5. For large & complex projects, support PED and Project I&I manager in the engineering change management.
6. Lead & coordinate design teams.
7. Follow the engineering budget and identify potential savings and highlight to Project manager all motivated situations requiring extra budget.
8. Participate and contribute to the project multidisciplinary design reviews according to the EMH procedures and per the project strategy.
About you:
1. Engineering degree level or equivalent education.
2. Experience of Engineering activities as lead engineer in EPC type environment.
3. Successful experience in project technical management in a multi-disciplinary team's context including multiple interfaces and with products coming from several countries.
4. Knowledge of the Transmission or Distribution industry is essential.
5. Knowledge of Renewable Energy systems is beneficial.
6. Knowledge of GIS and AIS systems is beneficial.
