This is a permanent role with an immediate start with a salary of £34,500. After the first five weeks on campus, the role is offered on a hybrid working arrangement with 3 days a week in the office and the balance from home.
As a Student & Academic Administrator, you will be working within a busy, fast-paced team. You will possess strong administration skills and offer excellent customer service and support to students and academics. You will be dealing with a very high number of emails across multiple inboxes assisting with complex student queries and triaging as necessary. In addition, you will assist with student event planning and servicing meetings including minute taking.
Student & Academic Administrator Key Responsibilities:
* Providing support to students and academics of the University in person, by telephone and by email. Responding to student queries providing advice, guidance, and signposting when appropriate.
* Confidently dealing with a high number of emails across multiple inboxes effectively and efficiently.
* Managing and inputting large data sets into spreadsheets and dealing with other student record management accurately.
* Servicing academic committees and meetings including writing minutes, reports, and taking follow-up action and assisting with the planning and organisation of student events and activities.
* Assisting with exams and assessment related activities, including ensuring all exam boards are organised, coordinating with External Examiners and other stakeholders.
* Happily taking on other administrative duties in order to support the team and wider university.
Student & Academic Administrator Key Skills:
* Administrative experience in Higher Education, ideally in a student-facing role.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with often difficult and complex academic and student queries.
* Strong time management skills, with the capability to work well and calmly under pressure.
* Proficiency in IT – the Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel and student management systems such as UNIT-e. Experience working with large data sets ensuring attention to detail and accuracy.
