Head Baker
Location: Godalming
Schedule: 4 Days on, 3 Days Off
Concept: Field to Fork
Salary: £50-55k+
The Client
Our client is a proud champion of farm-to-fork cooking and local produce. With a new venture opening in June 2025, the client is launching a Custom Made Bakery in a stunning location.
The Role
The custom made Bakery will be a year-round operation, looking to supply bread to other local businesses and farmers markets. The unit will serve coffee and baked goods throughout the day from the site and adjacent kitchen. The client will also extend to serve hot breakfast options and a succinct lunch offering. The commercial bakery will be at the heart of this new concept, aiming to be a market leader in artisanal bakeries in the surrounding areas.
Requirements
As Head Baker, the client is looking for someone with sourdough experience, ideally from a specialist bakery. The ideal candidate should also have lamination and/or pastry experience. Additionally, some experience running a bakery business or an interest in taking on an administrative role is preferred.
Additional Requirements
The successful Head Baker should additionally have the following:
1. In-depth understanding of volume, quality restaurant kitchen operations
2. Passionate about food, drink, and the hospitality industry
3. Awareness of and adherence to Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation
4. Excellent communication and leadership skills
