About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join the newly established Competency Centre for AI & Machine Learning at the University of Oxford. As a Senior Research Software Engineer, you will lead the development of innovative AI solutions that drive the University's Digital Transformation Programme. Collaborating with internal research groups, teaching staff, and industry leaders like OpenAI, Google, and Microsoft, you will design and implement impactful tools and technologies based on AI advancements such as large language models.
Beyond technical work, you will manage multiple projects, engage with diverse stakeholders, and contribute to community-building activities such as workshops and networking events. This role is ideal for a proactive professional eager to shape the future of AI in one of the world’s leading academic institutions.

About You
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic software engineering professional with a strong passion for artificial intelligence and machine learning.
You will hold a PhD/DPhil in a relevant field or possess significant experience in AI/ML workflows and software development.
Expertise in programming languages like Python, C++, or Java is essential.
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing complex projects and collaborating in dynamic team environments.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders across academic and administrative spheres are crucial.
