ScottishPower are hiring a UK General Manager - Building Operations to join our General Services function which sits within the Corporate Business Unit to be responsible and accountable for the strategic direction, management, and delivery of the Hard and Soft Facilities Management Services provision for ScottishPower, along with any related capital projects.
Reporting into the Head of Operations, you'll be responsible for managing a delivery team (direct and indirect) across all UK sites (Circa 90 and growing) and be accountable for the overall team and contract performance, financial control and governance, all statutory and legal compliance requirements, service delivery performance and all related commercial aspects.
You'll be responsible for developing and driving improvement in the service and value delivered to ScottishPower in line with UK and Iberdrola Global strategy and objectives.
What you'll be doing
* Implementing and developing the procurement strategy with various business functions for Building Operations across the UK which meets ScottishPower's business objectives, General Services deliverables, and Contracted agreements.
* Be accountable for managing the service contracts with various suppliers and ensuring compliance with all corporate procedures.
* Responsible for strategic management and review of policies and procedures governing building preventative, corrective, reactive maintenance and cleanliness in compliance with all legislation, regulations, building codes and standards.
* Ensure the compliant, safe, economical, and efficient operation of all sites, building and facilities whilst meeting statutory and legal compliance requirements in relation to Building Operations.
* Responsible for a team of regional managers who are assigned ownership for maintaining Compliance to all legal and regulatory requirements whilst ensuring delivery of a best-in-class customer service approach for specific UK sites.
* Perform as required visits to UK sites when business requirements dictate to work with stakeholders on Compliance/regulatory or any business needs that cannot be managed within the regional Managers' remit.
* Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure service delivery and development whilst ensuring this is aligned to the core business objectives.
* Monitor and review Management Reporting to demonstrate value to all Customers and delivery against objectives with year-on-year improvement against key performance metrics.
* Lead and own strategic process improvement activities and provide a strategic outlook of the service delivery model using service value models.
* Responsible for budgetary control, forecasting and reporting whilst working collaboratively with business performance teams.
What you'll bring
* Educated to Degree level in Engineering or a Building Operations discipline OR with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Building Operations discipline with excellent contract and commercial management within an organisation of similar size and scale.
* Chartered Member of a related professional institute (desirable but not a prerequisite).
* Significant experience in effective management of a multi-disciplinary supply chain and knowledge of multi-service management contracting models within a Building Operations environment.
* Significant experience in outsourced service delivery and outcome-based performance management with first class contract management negotiating skills.
* Significant experience of managing, leading and developing Facilities Management teams in a fast-paced environment that can vary daily.
* The ability to formulate and control multi-million-pound budgets whilst working with Business Performance teams.
* Expert knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and compliance in the UK.
* The ability to cultivate team motivation commitment, drive, and enthusiasm to achieve high performance levels.
* Excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Excellent team-based working mentality and a drive to embed a high performance culture within the Building Operations team.
