Job Description:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated, friendly, and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 3 pupil who has Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and autism. This role is based in a supportive primary school in Wellingborough, where you will play a crucial role in helping this pupil thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored, 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with SEMH and autism, creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Assist with daily classroom activities, implementing strategies to support the pupil’s individual learning and emotional needs.
Encourage social interactions, build confidence, and promote positive behavior through patience and understanding.
Collaborate with the class teacher and SEN team to adapt resources and teaching methods to meet the pupil’s specific requirements.
Track progress and feedback to the SENCO and parents to ensure continuous support for the child’s development.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience working in a primary school or 1:1 setting with children who have additional needs (preferably SEMH and/or autism).
