CY Executive Resourcing have been tasked to actively recruit an experienced Finance Manager, specifically focusing on Rent and Service Charges. You will be working for an established Greater Manchester based housing association on a hybrid arrangement, working 2 days onsite and the rest of the time from home.
Day to day duties for the Rent and Service Charge Finance Manager include:
1. Day to day management of the rents and service charge function incorporating line management of the Finance Officer (Rent and Service Charge).
2. Preparation for review of the annual rental income and service charge budgets ensuring that the service charge costs are accurately determined and charged.
3. Resolution of customer queries or complaints relating to the rent and service charge function.
4. Preparation of forecasts and management information and accounts, specifically around rent and service charges.
5. Completion of balance sheet reconciliations for appropriate rents and service charge areas.
6. Lead the service charge statement production for actual costs for issue to customers aligned to relevant tenancy agreement or lease obligations, including liaising with relevant stakeholders.
7. Help the organisation to improve VFM and reduce annual service charge deficits.
8. Responsible for periodic review and development of rent and service charge setting policies, controls, procedure guides and processes to maintain efficiencies.
9. To ensure systems and databases used for the calculation and charging of rents and service charges are up to date, accurate and contain all the relevant information.
10. To advise on statutory consultation in relation to service charges and attend residents' meetings regarding rents and service charges where appropriate.
11. To provide advice and training to the business.
The ideal candidate will be conscientious and an accurate producer and manager of financial information. You will be a qualified accountant or in the latter stages of study. Alternatively, you will have a strong background and experience in rent and service charge accounting.
