We are seeking to recruit an experienced Bid Manager to join our Civil Engineering division. Working within our offices in Belfast, the successful Bid Manager will bring extensive expertise and enthusiasm to the role, coupled with strong leadership and strategic thinking to drive high-quality bid submissions in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Reporting to the Bid Director, the Bid Manager will play a strategic role in leading the bid process, ensuring the highest quality submissions. Managing multiple tenders simultaneously, you will drive the bid team to deliver compelling and competitive responses, while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: Overseeing and managing the pre-construction phase of multiple projects. Defining and implementing the bid strategy in collaboration with the Pre-Construction Director and Bid Director. Developing and maintaining a detailed Bid Programme to ensure deadlines are met. Leading and facilitating tender progress meetings, both internally and externally. Identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities within tenders and ensuring these are addressed by the team. Collaborating with Commercial, Estimating, and Design teams to ensure contract documents are thoroughly reviewed and the bid position is aligned with company objectives. Working with civil engineering technical team to ensure efficient construction methodologies and programmes are developed. Provide outline technical written content for development by the submissions team Conducting research to enhance the bid submission, ensuring a full understanding of the project scope. Maintaining and fostering strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders. Supporting business development initiatives and identifying future project opportunities. Traveling throughout the UK as required. Qualifications & Experience Essential: A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Experience in a Bid Manager or Pre-Construction role within a major civil engineering contractor. Strong knowledge of heavy marine engineering, earthworks, site infrastructure, and flood protection schemes. Experience working with different forms of contract, including JCT, NEC, and bespoke contracts. A deep understanding of single-stage, two-stage, and negotiated tendering. Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines. High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
