Job Title: PMLD Teacher (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities)
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £120 - £180 per day
Start Date: Monday 18th November 2024

We are seeking a passionate and experienced PMLD Teacher to join our committed team. You will play a vital role in developing tailored learning experiences, ensuring that every student is supported to achieve their full potential.
- Plan, deliver, and assess highly personalised lessons focusing on communication, sensory experiences, and life skills for students with PMLD.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide holistic education and care.
- Develop and implement creative, sensory-rich learning activities.
- Use a range of alternative communication methods, including Makaton, PECS, and assistive technology.
- Foster independence, self-esteem, and social interaction in a safe, inclusive environment.
- Maintain detailed records of students' progress and actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including EHCP reviews.
- Tailor teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Promote a positive, supportive classroom culture.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience working with students with PMLD or severe learning difficulties (SLD).
- Strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies and alternative communication methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting students with complex needs.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Training in Makaton, PECS, or similar communication strategies.
- Experience in a special school or SEN setting.
- Knowledge of sensory integration techniques and therapeutic interventions.
- A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
