Lead Youth Worker - 2 posts - 25 Hours Salary: £15.34 per hour (will increase in April tracking point 13 on JNC Scale)
Our charity delivers youth work to hundreds of young people in Cleator Moor and Frizington. You will line manage two youth workers, supported by our Project Director. You will lead on the planning and delivery of youth work sessions that are fun, developmental and discuss the issues that affect young people's lives. You will build up relationships and be a role model to our young people. In school holidays you will take part in trips, residentials and other fun activities with young people.
This is a unique career opportunity to build your CV and personal skills. We believe that youth work can make a huge difference in the lives of local children and young people. We will offer training and development to our employees and our employees have benefitted from using the experience gained here to continue to move up the career ladder.
Both roles will involve daytime office shifts, three evening youth work sessions each week and very occasional weekends to meet the needs of local young people and our local communities.
We don't expect you to have youth work qualifications but ideally you have worked in a youth club before and had a leadership role. Equally we are just as interested in your inter personal skills and positive attitude. This post is a regulated activity and subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure in the event of being offered this position, costs of which will be paid for by the charity.
