We are looking for
a dynamic, strategic thinker with experience of working in Medical Dermatology to provide leadership and clinical expertise, in the development of our service across multiple sites of Bristol Dermatology Centre.
The Bristol Dermatology Centre is a large teaching hospital department providing a full range of dermatological services for our local population as well as a regional service in paediatric dermatology, phototherapy, contact dermatitis, skin lymphoma and nail disease.
You will become part of our expanding, exciting and outward looking team and will have the opportunity to work together with the multi-disciplinary team to make a difference in the care of our Medical Dermatology patients.
The successful candidate will take a lead in driving the ambitions for the service, as well as developing links with partners to improve quality of medical dermatology care provision aligning with our strategic agenda.
The suitable candidate would have experience of working within Medical Dermatology, experience of leading change, audit, research and education.
Fulfil the four core functions of consultant level practice including expert practice, professional leadership and consultancy, education and training, and research and audit.
Work autonomously at an advanced level to provide clinical assessment, intervention and pathways for patients within the service(s). This is a key post within a specialist area and will have a clear role in defining, shaping delivering, and developing the services.
Lead the provision and development of expert, innovative and evidence-based clinical care within Medical Dermatology, at both an organisational and strategic level, working closely with all senior clinicians. Act as an ambassador for the Trust’s Dermatology service, representing it as a centre of clinical excellence internally and nationally.
·Be an expert, autonomous practitioner in Inflammatory skin conditions, a role model for the evolving Dermatology Nursing Team and a reference for the multidisciplinary teams. Lead and empower Medical Dermatology Nurses, support staff, APs, EPs and managers in Dermatology to ensure effective dermatology agendas are implemented and embedded in the service and are reflective of the national public health agendas.
·Develop appropriate education and training programmes for all clinical staff within medical dermatology in relationship with local higher education providers. Develop and conduct audit and research to improve patient care within the speciality.

10. Experience of leading service developments and implementing changes in practice
11. Familiar with relevant clinical guidelines (e.g. BSG, NICE, National/international professional bodies)
12. Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of relevant research and its application to practice
13. Experience of conducting, completing and presenting primary research
14. Evidence of supporting Dermatology patients with complex needs
15. Evidence of publication in the field (peer reviewed journals, professional conferences)
