What you’ll bedoing:
1. Interpreting engineeringdrawings
Marking – off materials Plate perpetration, using different methods (Oxy – fuelgas cutting & Hand Grinding) Assembling of ships structures, shell, decks, bulkheads,frames, & longitudinals Fit, fair and tack weld steelwork using fairingaids Fabrication of ship items – seats, ladders, falseflooring & panels Outfitting Ships items, fitting of hatches, watertightdoors, equipment seats & false flooring Forming Material using machine tools – Rolling, Flanging& Cutting Machines (guillotine, cropper mechanicalsaw) Preparing ship for float-off & ship seatrials
Your skills andexperiences:
2. Modern Apprenticeship certificatealso known as Trade Papers (you will be required to provide papers)and minimum SVQ 3 or equivalent
Current knowledge and experience inFabrication Understanding of manufacturingprocesses Clear understanding of SHE and RiskAssessment Comfortable working in confined spaces and/or atheight Safety certification i.e. SHE Induction, RiskAssessment, working at height etc. Background in a major construction / manufacturingenvironment
