Do you want to grow your own department from scratch?
This is the perfect opportunity for you to take hold of and build a purchasing function from the ground up, establishing and overseeing the purchasing activities and directly influencing the strategy in a growing business.
This is a brand-new position in the business that has come about as part of their growth and development strategy, highlighting that you will be supported from the very top in the changes you make.
You’ll be reporting directly into the MD and sitting on the senior leadership team, which highlights the importance of this role to the business and allowing you to make the impact needed.
You will be working at the main site in Hull, however they also have their sister site in Rochdale which you will also be responsible for, giving you your first exposure to multisite experience. Don’t worry, you will only need to visit on an ad-hoc basis.
The Business
They evolved from a family business in the early 90's into a market leading food manufacturer supplying some of the biggest food service names in the country.
They are projected to increase their turnover by nearly 20% over the next year meaning exciting growth for you to get involved in. They are also continually investing putting them at the forefront of the market.
They are a smaller business with circa 70 people on site with an open plan office space you will work in meaning it will be easy for you to build strong relationships with the team.
What about you?
You’ll need to have a background in food manufacturing or a similar FMCG environment.
This is a great opportunity if you are looking for the next step in your career as you don’t need to be in a management position but you will need to know how to negotiate supplier contracts.
