We are actively looking for SEN teaching assistants for a primary school in the Carmarthen area.
Role Details
Job Title: ALN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Sector: Primary School Key Stage 1
Job Type: Full Time
Start Date: 06/01/2025
Location: Carmarthen
Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm)
Key Responsibilities
1. Safeguarding children
2. Support children in developing essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence
3. Assist teachers in developing and implementing individualised learning plans
4. Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with staff and parents
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
6. Adapt quickly to different school settings and build rapport with students and colleagues
7. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge in ALN support
Requirements
1. Minimum of GCSE's in English and Mathematics
2. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA or SEN certification) are desirable but not essential
3. Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS checks.
4. Driving Licence (not essential but preferred)

1. Previous experience working with ALN children, preferably in an education or care setting
2. A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
4. Positive attitude, excellent work ethic, and a proactive approach to problem solving
5. Ability to deal with challenging behaviour and seek support when required
