Overview. We are AT Homes Group, where we specialise in making our young people feel 'At Home'. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Home Manager to oversee the daily operations of our homes. This will be a new home and experience in this process is beneficial and comes with an Ofsted registration bonus! The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of care plans, particularly in relation to Childcare, Care plans, and mental health. This role is crucial in ensuring that our service users receive the highest quality of care in a supportive and therapeutic environment.
Duties.
1. Supervise and manage all aspects of the children's home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, Ofsted, and best practices.
2. Develop, implement, and monitor individual care plans tailored to meet the needs of each service user.
3. Lead and support a team of therapeutic support staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages professional development.
4. Oversee medication administration and ensure that all staff are trained in safe practices.
5. Conduct regular assessments of service users' needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
6. Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
7. Manage day-to-day operations, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
8. Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and compassion within the home.
Qualifications.
1. Level 5 Diploma or Equivalent in residential childcare is essential.
2. Degree in a relevant field.
3. Previous experience in a supervisory role within a children's home or other care home setting is preferred.
4. A background in Childcare or relevant healthcare qualifications is highly desirable.
5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
6. Knowledge of EHCPs and care practices and experience in developing care plans for individuals with complex needs.
7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an empathetic approach to resident interactions.
8. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
9. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices in care management.
10. Understanding and delivering Ofsted regulations.
11. Experience in opening new homes preferred.
