Operations Manager - Retrofit/Social Housing
We are working with a well-established organisation who are looking to expand their business by recruiting an Operations Manager to build that team and help us establish that capability. You will need a strong background in managing delivery for funded retrofit programmes, particularly ECO, and familiarity and experience with PAS2035 and managing its compliant delivery.
An established operator in Social Housing retrofit and part of a group of companies in the energy efficiency sector, we are now establishing capability to deliver for the ECO4 programme.
Ability to coordinate suppliers and subcontractors (including PAS2035 resources) and help build the new team and grow it for volume activity. Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
2. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and monitor progress against key milestones.
3. Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
4. Coordinate regular site visits and technical monitoring to ensure compliance with frameworks, regulations, and safety standards.
5. Proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.
6. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, progress, and any changes to scope or requirements.
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and achieve higher levels of efficiency and sustainability.
8. Work closely with management colleagues to agree priorities, balance resources, and optimise commercial outcomes.
9. Prepare, oversee and maintain all aspects of auditable activity and records, to ensure smooth compliance with annual audit processes in line with accreditation standards.
10. Role will be initially more hands-on, moving to more supervisory as the team is built and gains operational confidence.
Candidate Attributes:
1. Proven experience in ECO management.
2. Strong understanding of eco-friendly technologies and practices, with a genuine passion for sustainability.
3. Field experience and relevant trade qualifications are an advantage.
4. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multi-functional teams.
5. Flexible team player with a positive, proactive, and enthusiastic nature, with a high desire to succeed.
6. Solid organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
7. Capability to multitask, prioritise, and manage own workload to meet deadlines.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members.
9. Experienced and confident with commercial modelling and ECO funding calculations (and associated tools & techniques).
10. Experience with dealing with customers and their personal information, including an awareness of current privacy regulations.
11. Strong skills in the confident use of IT applications relevant to compliance and project workflow in a PAS environment (ECOSurv, Paperclip, Corelogic, QMS & CRM, etc).
12. NVQ L3 Certificate in Retrofit Assessment or NOCN/ABBE Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management are an advantage.
13. Clean, current UK driving licence and willingness to undertake travel as required.
