The Role: As a Social Value and Environment Lead, reporting into the Head of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable transport by developing and integrating social value and environment strategies into our bid submissions. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, research proficiency, and narrative crafting to effectively communicate Stagecoach's commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. Key Responsibilities: Research, understand, and articulate the social value and environment requirements for each tender, ensuring alignment with Stagecoach's ESG goals. Develop persuasive narratives that highlight Stagecoach's initiatives in environmental management, community engagement, and economic development through an ESG lens. Evaluating and summarising the financial costs and benefits of social value and environment initiatives, including use of the UK Themes, Outcomes and Measures (TOMs) framework and other similar tools. Collaborate with internal teams to gather data and case studies that demonstrate Stagecoach's positive ESG impact, both embedding these in tender responses and ensuring they are outwardly visible to those researching Stagecoach. Stay abreast of trends in social value creation and environmental innovation to advise on continuous improvement of bids and environmental strategies. Ensure propositions are robust, compliant, innovative, and aligned with both clients and with Stagecoach's ESG roadmaps. Monitor and report on the performance of social value and environmental initiatives, using feedback to refine strategies. Contribute to Stagecoach's reputation as a leader in sustainable transport solutions. Requirements: Proven experience in bid writing, with a focus on social value and environment. Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders at different levels both internally within our business and with partner organisations. A strong understanding of ESG frameworks and regulations. Knowledge of the Social Value Portal, TOMs Framework, Welsh Government Community Benefits Measurement Tool, United Nations Global Compact principles and Sustainable Development Goals and of ESG practices would be beneficial.
