ABOUT US University Arms is a 192-bedroom design-led Hotel situated in the heart of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Overlooking Parker’s Piece is the Hotel’s quintessentially British Restaurant and Bar, Parker’s Tavern, Library Lounge and beautiful wood panelled Ballroom. Opened in 1834 as a Coaching Inn, University Arms is Cambridge’s oldest Hotel. For 180 years the Hotel was added to, updated and modernised in the line with the age, however, it was the reopening in 2018 after a four-year £80m full renovation that really positioned the Hotel. It is now Cambridges ‘go to’ destination, alluring visitors with the promise of a sense of modern luxury. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING As Bartender/Mixologist, you are the ambassador for exceptional service that is the hallmark of Parker’s Tavern beverage experience. You will work as part of a team to serve our Guests and create exceptional experiences and exceed expectations to ensure that every guest wants to return. Your duties will include but not be limited to: THE DUTIES You’re the face of our guests’ experience, making sure that from the moment they arrive to when they leave, they’re having a memorable experience. Prepare and serve memorable cocktails, spirits, wines, and beers as well as any other beverage requested by guests. Anticipate guest's needs by regularly checking the tables and being on the search for new ways to amaze them, remembering their names and favourite drinks so that you can wow them every time they visit Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere where guests come to wind down and enjoy themselves. Have an eye for detail and very high standards when it comes to our service, hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards. Have full knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items on the menu. We believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Previous experience in all aspects of spirits, cocktails creation, and mixology. Passion for hospitality – you’re all about creating memorable experiences for others. You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other, and has fun along the way. Have excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. The restaurant is busy all day and so you will need to be flexible in your availability to work mornings, evenings & weekends. Full-time or part-time contracts may be available. Having a reliable method of transportation.
