ROLE PURPOSE
You will be responsible for the growth of new clients which includes developing new client relationships, growing existing relationships with clients and partners and leading on their initial experience of our clients.
You will have a strong desire to pro-actively contact and work with employers to identify their needs, to sell current products. This may require tailoring or bespoke design of programme solutions so you can achieve your sales target with corporate and key accounts across our clients full range of products and programme areas. You will also gather intelligence on customer needs to share with other senior managers to continually improve our clients product offering.
You will need to be driven, organised and dedicated to managing a busy and demanding workload. You will have a genuine passion for the world of education, putting the client experience and their learners at the heart of everything you do. You will have an extensive understanding of Apprenticeships/Traineeships and funding methodology for ESFA/Apprenticeships, traineeships and AEB.
You will champion and embed the behaviours, values and skills we need to successfully deliver the clients vision, leading by example. Working to fulfil your objectives to ensure our clients reaches its sales, financial and growth targets and supports our clients goals.
You will be able to build effective client relationships as well as the ability to network with wider colleagues within the our clients organisations and external stakeholders.
Due to the nature of the business you will be required to have a flexible and adaptable approach. Although your primary base will be Wythenshawe, from time to time you will also be required to attend business in various locations nationwide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Professionally and effectively employ sales skills to achieve sales targets (e.g. no. of corporate accounts, learners, client spend, client margin).
2. Build and manage an effective pipeline of sales prospects to increase share of each market sector.
3. Develop relationships with professional bodies to support business development activities.
4. Effectively communicate with clients predominantly via telephone, but also face-to-face and written communications including conducting sales/marketing presentations (face-to-face and virtual open evenings, exhibitions, branch activities, etc.).
5. Support the management and production of corporate proposals, bids, and tenders.
6. Liaise with new and existing clients bringing back customer intelligence to ensure our clients understands and meets current and future needs.
7. Be able to match appropriate products to clients' requirements.
8. Maintain and develop existing corporate client relationships and keep existing customers abreast of new products and our clients promotions.
9. Support the research, development, and execution of a corporate business development strategy and plan of activity to generate and achieve set targets of corporate sales across all our clients products and programme areas.
10. Work with our clients senior managers to ensure up-to-date product knowledge and relevant sales collateral (online and paper-based) to facilitate sales of all of our clients products: be able to demonstrate a full knowledge of all products, relevant selling points and benefits.
11. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with good report writing and presentation skills and confidence presenting to large groups of people.
12. Excellent IT skills with experience of word processing/Excel and presentation Microsoft Office Packages.
13. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse range of people including staff in member/partner organisations/employers and beneficiaries supported through projects.
14. Evidence of problem identification and solving abilities.
15. Knowing when/how to say no to a client without risking the relationship.
16. Recognise cultural needs of clients.
17. Able to demonstrate a full knowledge of all products, funding rules, additional funding streams and benefits to customers.
18. Ensuring any complaints are handled appropriately and dealt with in an efficient manner.
19. Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced work environment.
20. Ability to work on your own initiative and be self-motivated.
21. Ability to manage performance of targeted outputs and outcomes associated with contracts delivery in line with customer requirements, funding programme guidelines and profile for a number of key accounts.
22. Proven, recent, sales experience demonstrated in a B2B environment, ideally from within the apprenticeship sector.
23. Proven recent sales skills, including closing, prospecting, sales planning, selling to customer needs, territory and account management, market knowledge, meeting sales targets.
24. Highly professional and able to maintain appropriate confidentialities.
25. Experience of setting high standards to achieve contract/project funded objectives, continually monitoring levels/standards of support and identifying ways of making improvements based on strategic evaluation or feedback.
26. Prioritising workload to ensure first class employer/learner experience.
27. Forecasting within your pipeline for financial profiling purposes.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Educated to degree level or above or experience in a similar role.
Proven, recent, sales experience demonstrated in a B2B sales environment, ideally from within the private training/education sector. Proven recent sales skills, including closing, prospecting, sales planning, selling to customer needs, territory and account management, market knowledge, meeting sales targets.
