The Role:
Do you care about wildlife and have a flair for public engagement?
Bird Aware Solent is looking for a Community Engagement Ranger to join its friendly and passionate team. Our Rangers raise awareness of the importance of coastal birds within the Solent’s three Special Protection Areas (SPAs) and encourage responsible recreation on the coast.
The post holder will primarily be working within our dog walking initiative: Coast and Country Canines. We intend to expand the scope of this initiative to work more closely with organisations within the dog industry so they can help share our messaging about wildlife-aware dog walking. The post holder will build our connections with local businesses, such as vets, dog trainers and professional dog walkers, and develop bespoke resources to achieve our objectives. You’ll therefore need to have excellent face-to-face and written communication skills and be especially confident in striking up good rapport with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Applicants must have a driving licence and use of their own vehicle for work purposes.
