I was exposed to a variety of tasks, from member calculations and data checking, to drafting reports and planning team socials The opportunity to collaborate with talented, friendly colleagues and contribute to meaningful projects inspired me to return as a graduate. I look forward to continuing growing alongside such an amazing team.” (Henna – London) “My internship at BW was the perfect transition from university to the workplace, giving me invaluable hands-on experience in member calculations, contributing to actuarial projects, and gaining insight into complex pension concepts, helping me develop real-world skills and applications for my knowledge from day one. It provided an incredible foundation for an actuarial career, along with giving me a more focused drive ahead of my final year of studying.” (Alex – Amersham) “The internship and Barnett Waddingham gave me great exposure to the actuarial profession and pensions industry. Whilst working with the AC team I had the opportunity to work on real client work such as drafting reports and calculating transfer values which helped me to gain a real understanding of the work. I also got to know more about the actuarial exams and the support that BW offer through formal training sessions and chatting to colleagues who were at various stages of the exam process. Everyone in the office is very friendly and really keen to help you develop your skills, it is also a very sociable office which I loved. The training and work that I completed within the actuarial team during my internship made me realise that an actuarial profession was the career path I would like to follow, and the work culture and socials let me know that BW was a place I could see myself thriving.” (Emm a – Glasgow) Our Actuarial Summer Internship Programme 2025 We run an eight-week paid summer internship programme in our Actuarial Consulting team that offers first class training and work experience.
