Job Title: Advanced Practitioner Sonographer
Reports to: Superintendent Sonographer
Location: Location will be dependent on area recruited. This is dictated by current ICB contracts.

Job Purpose: Physiological Measurements Ltd have extensive and award-winning experience in delivering community diagnostics, particularly community non-obstetric ultrasound services. This role will deliver community NOUS ultrasound services aligned to our successful integrated patient pathway, providing patients with high-quality investigations close to home.
Responsibilities:
1. To undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging independently.
2. To formulate, issue and be accountable for clinical reports.
3. To promote and encourage effective professional practices in the company by example and instruction.
4. To participate in, and deliver exceptional evidence-based practice.
5. To use accepted clinical judgment to enable independent decision-making.
6. To assist and encourage service development and innovation.
7. To actively participate in clinical audits and assessments where required and to liaise with referrers as needed.
8. To maintain a professional and courteous manner and always uphold the reputation of the Company.
9. To observe confidentiality with respect to patients, GPs, local GP practices, local Trusts, NHS staff, and NHS information at all times.
10. To safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable adults and children you contact or are responsible for.
11. To ensure all E-learning modules are kept up to date including but not limited to safeguarding, PREVENT training, data security, and all mandatory training.
12. To work across various clinic locations throughout the week; ability to travel independently is essential.
13. To assist with the training and mentoring of new Sonographers.
14. To assist with clinical Triage when required.
15. To assist with clinic risk assessments where needed.
16. To plan, assess, deliver, and evaluate own workload in close liaison with the Company administrators and clinical lead.
17. To have a proactive involvement in undertaking and supporting improvements of the service and clinical practice.
Person Specification:
Essential:
1. Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or Overseas equivalent.
2. Professional Registration with HCPC/SOR/RCT.
3. Minimum of 2 years experience of Independent scanning and reporting.
4. Possess a UK or International driving licence with a view to acquiring a UK driving licence.
5. Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable:
1. Experience within specialised techniques such as MSK.
2. Experience working within the NHS.
3. Good IT skills.

Responsibilities for Health and Safety: The post holder is responsible for ensuring that all duties and responsibilities of this post are carried out in compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Statutory Regulations, and Company Policy and Procedures. This will be supported by the provision of training and specialist advice where required.
