We are seeking a Head of Streetworks to join our team in Cumbria.
Location: GB, Office based with regular site visits. Hybrid working can be discussed.
Role Summary:
The Head of Streetworks will oversee the Streetworks department, building effective and lasting relationships with the Local Highways Authorities across the UK, and ensuring robust and effective processes are in operation within the business to facilitate the build whilst adhering to regulations.
Responsibilities:
* Overseeing the Streetworks division, ensuring compliance is met and maintained across the function, providing data on adherence, non-conformances and areas of improvement
* Developing a close relationship with local councils and highway authorities, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to facilitate the fibre network build
* Focus on mitigation of risk to the build, ensuring all documentation and permits are in place
* Take the lead on non-conformances, carrying out thorough investigations, with root cause analysis and recommendations on improvements
* Protecting the reputation and integrity of the Company by ensuring both direct labour, sub-contractors and external principle contractors working on our behalf are submitting and closing permits in-line with local requirements
* Oversee the gathering and collation of evidence in relation to any challenges received from local authorities in relation to NRSWA and ensure in the timely submission of such evidence to the required authority.
* Provide expertise and successfully challenge Defects, S74 & FPNs where applicable in order to mitigate cost
* Delivery of training and coaching of teams to upskill them in all areas of Streetworks
* Working with both direct labour staff and sub-contractors, delivering compliance data and implementing improvement plans
* Working closely with the HSEQ and Build teams for performance improvement measures
* Ensure that data, reports and presentations are compiled to effectively monitor performance and improvements
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships with teams across the Group, ensuring seamless collaboration for successful workstream and project delivery

Requirements:
* At least 5 years experience in a similar role
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Expertise in NRSWA and understanding of applying the regulations
* Significant experience of stakeholder management and engagement
* Proven experience of leading a team and promoting a culture of high-performance
* Operational and industry experience within Telecoms ideally but will consider candidates from a Civil Engineering or other utility sector background
* Full valid driver licence
