Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying potential hazards, and developing actionable plans to mitigate those risks.
You will also facilitate collaboration with customers, colleagues, and external partners, fostering open communication channels to enhance understanding and compliance regarding health and safety standards. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and informed, ultimately contributing to a safer living environment for all residents.
You will be required to travel around our housing stock and be on-site a few times a week, as well as two office days; the rest of the time you can work at home.

* Develop, undertake, monitor, and review the programme of health, safety and fire assessments/audits.
* Provide data of any incident and/or work-based accident that may have a fiscal impact on the Association and/or where the incident has had to be reported to the relevant authorities to the Assistant Director of Property Compliance.
* Manage the team’s customer complaints and be proactive in evaluating and making changes to prevent complaints in the future, working closely with managers within Built Environment.
* Monitor compliance of the CDM regulations and other site health & safety issues. Work with and review health and safety plans in conjunction with the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor to ensure that all Client duties are met for planned investment works.
To be successful in this role you must have:
* Substantial experience of providing a proactive & responsive Health and Safety service.
* Line management experience is essential.
* Experience of working within a similar background, housing, local authority, construction or facilities would be preferred.
* NEBOSH national diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent or the willingness to work towards one.
* P405 certificate in asbestos management or P402 Asbestos Surveying.
* P901 Legionella Awareness.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a car – travel throughout Essex and East London.
If you think you have the skills and experience to make a big difference and impact in how Estuary takes services forward, we would love to hear from you!
Please apply as soon as possible as you may be contacted sooner for an interview. If you have the attitude and skills needed to excel in this role, apply today!
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work from the office when required for business needs, therefore must live at a commutable distance (office working will also include face-to-face meetings). You will also be required to climb ladders for site inspections as and when required.
