Job Description:
Senior CDM Consultant
At Bellrock, we harness technology to give our customers an experience that not only leaves them with advanced building systems but with peace of mind. We unlock that by being technology-led but people-driven. When you’re part of Bellrock, you’ll get everything you need to be your best at work - because our people are the heart of our business. We’re all about helping them to shine.
Bellrock Compliance is looking to grow our existing team of CDM consultants. This exciting role will involve working on a number of projects across public and private sectors, including new builds, refurbishments, tall building remediation, and maintenance schemes, NHS, Universities, and data centres.
The role involves working on multiple projects across London, Home Counties, and the Southeast, visiting sites and reporting, as well as representing Bellrock Compliance to clients and contractors. The Safety Compliance team is thriving, with an ever-growing client base and great opportunities for training and development potential.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can demonstrate strong leadership qualities with a ‘can do’ attitude.
The role will include working closely with our clients and internal teams to deliver projects in a safe and compliant manner. We have set high standards for Health and Safety and are looking for individuals who can undertake the CDMA/PD roles with a professional, constructive, and collaborative approach.
Client relationships are key to our continued success, and as such we strongly promote active client engagement.
How will you be the change?
We believe every role is essential to providing that peace of mind for our customers - whatever part of the business you’re in. Every role plays a part in driving us further. Everyone can be the change. That’s how we deliver value for our customers and build systems that lead the way.
As a Senior CDM Consultant, you’ll do it by:
* Fulfilling the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015, including where necessary carrying out the role of CDM-Advisor to support the client.
* Having relevant knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and other relevant legislation, and being able to apply and implement those requirements at project level.
* Planning, managing, monitoring, and coordinating pre-construction phases of projects to identify, eliminate, or control significant and foreseeable risks relating to construction, maintenance, cleaning, and using the building as a workplace.
* Working with the client to gather preconstruction information, assess adequacy, identify gaps, provide advice on how they might be filled, and distribute to those that need it.
* Managing multiple projects for key clients, particularly focused on high-rise residential refurbishment, development, and commercial sectors.
* Attending client meetings, carrying out H&S site inspections, and delivering high-quality reports to the client within agreed deadlines.
* Providing clear, concise, and practical Health and Safety advice, guidance, and coaching to project teams throughout all stages of the project.
* Collating, preparing, and issuing Health & Safety Files to the client.
* Managing agreed fees, confirming invoicing, closing out appointments, and supporting debtor control.
* Exploring potential cross-sell opportunities across the wider Bellrock teams.
What does it take?
If you’re ready to be the energy that helps us build our business, share our success, and really own it as a Senior CDM Consultant, you’ll need:
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry with experience of CDM/Health and Safety issues in construction.
* Excellent working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and appropriate legislation.
* A NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
* Ideally, an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs) or IOSH.
* A full and clean driver’s license.
* A willingness to travel to varied sites across London, Home Counties, and the Southeast.
* Motivation, good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Your core qualities and attributes
* A confident, clear, and articulate communicator with effective interpersonal skills with clients, contractors, and colleagues in verbal and written format.
* Comfortable with working autonomously and managing your own workload effectively.
* A natural curiosity for problem-solving.
* Enjoy the challenge of working with external stakeholders.
* A passion for developing yourself and others.
* An effective decision-maker and an excellent team player.
* A desire for ownership, accountability, and responsibility.
* A commitment to ‘make a difference’.
Working arrangements
We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from the 11th Floor, 5 Merchant Square, London, W2 1AY, two days a week with the team, and the rest of the week can be worked from home.
What can we offer you?
