Job Overview
Due to additional funding, opportunities have arisen for Registered General Nurses to join our hard-working and dedicated team of Nursing and Medical Staff in the Emergency Department at Southport Hospital.
The Emergency Department is located within Southport Hospital, offering a wide range of high-quality services. We are committed to the ongoing development of the services we deliver and are actively seeking to recruit experienced nurses to drive new improvements that benefit our patients and our care delivery.

These posts will be subject to an Enhanced DBS (with barred list for vulnerable adults and children’s disclosure).
Main Duties of the Job
1. Contribute to the delivery of quality patient care by participating in and providing the assessment, planning, provision, and evaluation of individualized care.
2. Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients in accordance with local policy.
3. Participate in developing and monitoring standards of care and other quality initiatives positively.
4. Fulfill the role of the departmental triage nurse, utilizing advanced skills of assessment, prioritization, decision-making, risk management, and communication skills.
5. Under the direct supervision of a senior nurse, coordinate activity throughout the ED, considering the multiple and complex needs of the department.
6. Always be caring, approachable, and display a consistently professional manner.
7. Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse, with current NMC Registration or due to qualify before April 2025.
* Teaching & Assessing Qualification/Training or equivalent.
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role.
* Knowledge of current professional & clinical issues.
* Knowledge of Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults procedures.
* Aware of how audit may influence the quality of patient care.
* Substantial post-registration experience within an acute hospital setting.
* Experience within an Acute Hospital Setting.
* Knowledge of and participation in audit.
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent time management, record management, and organizational skills.
Other
