This is an Emerging Catastrophe Classes Lead role in the Exposure Management team. This role includes the line management and development of the Senior Analysts (who manage Analysts) across all Emerging Cat classes (currently encompassing Cyber and Liability but this is expected to develop over time), in addition to the supervision of any external outsourced resources. As well as the oversight of all Exposure related information for new initiatives, the job holder requires an in-depth knowledge of catastrophe modelling and Exposure Management. The role includes dynamic interaction with the relevant class Underwriters in providing them with an accurate view of their portfolio as well as with insightful analytics to support their strategy. The Emerging Cat Lead is responsible for ensuring that the exposure information used for the monthly roll ups and reporting is captured fully and accurately in the appropriate systems. In addition, this role requires working with underwriters and alongside the central Exposure Management team to assist in setting, monitoring and reporting on relevant internal and external appetites. Working in conjunction with the Portfolio Manager to implement any new appetites as required. The Emerging Cat Lead duties include implementing automation and identifying efficiencies for operational improvement, providing training to modellers / outsourcing team and any other ad hoc activities associated with the strategic aims of the Exposure Management Team. Working in conjunction with the Portfolio Manager and the Property and Treaty and Speciality Leads to ensure consistency and efficiencies across all classes. Main duties Oversee the maintenance of the in-force Emerging Cat portfolio (currently Cyber and Liability), ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the data and results and relevant Regulatory returns Oversee the provision of analysis and insight into the model outputs to underwriters at both an account and Emerging Cat portfolio level Oversee the monitoring of position against risk appetite measures and help underwriters optimise their usage of available risk appetite Work closely with Underwriting Management (Divisional Heads) to understand their priorities and manage their expectations accordingly and support any growth strategies Work to build out synergies across the existing Emerging Cat classes Exposure Management Oversee and coordinate the monitoring of any exposure from new Innovation or Partnership initiatives, ensuring that records are up to date and that this is shared with the Exposure Manager for Regulatory returns.
