This is the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain providing zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. As part of recent growth on this project, we have a new vacancy for a project Engineer to join the Site Wide Engineering team on the project. The project engineer will support the planning and execution, and monitor engineering tasks within the team, assisting by coordinating project activities, managing documentation, and ensuring tasks are completed on time and within scope, working closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate communication, track progress and help achieve project outcomes. Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: Lead and manage emergent engineering projects from initiation to completion. Develop project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation, tailored to the specific requirements of emergent projects. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and production, to ensure timely project execution. Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards. Identify and analyse technical issues that require immediate attention, developing innovative solutions to address them. Collaborate with engineering teams to design, test, and implement solutions that meet project requirements. Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, ensuring that solutions are feasible and effective. Evaluate and troubleshoot emergent engineering problems, making adjustments as necessary to achieve project goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders involved in emergent engineering projects. Communicate project status, challenges, and outcomes to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders. Prepare and present detailed project reports, including technical documentation, cost analysis, and timelines. Ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project developments and any potential risks or delays. Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal utilization. Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to secure necessary materials and components. Ensure that all resources are used efficiently, minimizing waste and reducing costs. Adjust resource allocations as necessary to meet changing project demands. Identify potential risks associated with emergent projects and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure that all engineering solutions comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. What we’re looking for : HNC/HND/Degree Qualification (or Equivalent) Experience as a Project Construction Engineer within a infrastructure project-based environment. Experience working within large scale projects, ideally in a Joint Venture or Alliance environment. Works include the design and installation of circa 76,000 cables totalling over 3,000km in length; over 180km of cable containment support systems; fire and environmental sealing; design and installation of earthing systems, and specialist packages associated with data acquisition and plant control.
