Overview
As Quality Manager you are taking responsibility for overall quality of all products, working with supply chain to improve supplier quality. Responsible for the Quality Control Process, ensuring the Quality Control manual is continually updated in line with business needs and changes.
Responsibilities
* Work with Quality Team to ensure that all requirements are completed on time to the correct standard.
* Monitor production schedules to ensure all departments have quality support as required.
* Ensure customer feedback is acted upon promptly, positive or negative.
* Overall accountability for departmental documentation and process compliance.
* Take overall responsibility for the containment and corrective action implementation surrounding any form of non-conformance.
* Effectively communicate quality concerns throughout the business.
* Work with Head of Operations to ensure all relevant Processes and Work Instructions are maintained and reflective of current best practice.
* Ensure Quality KPI’s are developed, maintained, monitored and any necessary actions are dealt with promptly.
* Ensure Quality staff are completing proactive in-process checks throughout all operational departments.
* Manage the production of inspection reports on items requiring First Article Inspection or PPAP.
* Manage destructive testing on raw material samples as required, including updating documentation and highlighting risks or non-conformance.
* Ensure that all production areas’ Quality Control requirements are supported.
* Co-ordinate the calibration of all relevant tools throughout the business.
* Ensure tooling levels are maintained in line with department needs.
* Monitor, maintain and develop staff versatility charts for the Quality Department.
* Deliver tasks aligned to key business objectives within your area.
* Conduct IDP’s, team meetings and one-to-ones with staff as required.
* Manage the Quality team to deliver Continual Improvement across the department.
* Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy.
* Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives.
* Own Health and Safety related tasks, including non-conformance closure within your team.
You may be required to complete other tasks, as required by the business.
Experience
* Previous or current relevant Quality experience in a similar industry.
* Personnel management experience.
* Experience of ISO BMS.
* Experience of BS EN9102 reporting is desirable but not essential.
* Experience with basic and electronic metrology equipment.
* Ability to read engineering drawings.
* Aware of relevant TS/VDA standards is desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge of relevant FIA regulations & standards is desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
