TRAINING AND PEER SUPPORT COORDINATOR

Job description
We are seeking a motivated, organised person who will work to source and develop and facilitate innovative training programmes and peer support opportunities for unpaid Carers and their families. Through collaborative working with Condition Specific Training Providers, Third sector organisations, Health, and any other relevant agencies you will create and develop opportunities which will enable Carers, including Young Carers to manage their caring role whilst managing their own health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, coordinate and facilitate a broad range of training and peer support opportunities for unpaid carers and their families.
· Create a library of resources and services which will contribute to the development of carers skills and connect carers to wider community resources.
· Communicate and liaise with carers who are attending training and peer support opportunities.
· Work in partnership with a range of Statutory, and Third sector providers and condition specific organisations.
· Ensure opportunities and programmes are delivered and accessible in a wide range of venues, including online, throughout our service area.
· Maintain effective records relating to all activities undertaken and that this is reflected within quarterly performance monitoring.
· complete reports and collate date for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
· Identify and participate in events and networking opportunities to raise awareness of GAMH North East Carers Service
· To attend and contribute to relevant meetings and any related working groups.
· To prepare reports as required by the Service Manager
· Ensure adherence to GAMH policies and procedures including safeguarding and Data Management protocols.
· Collect and maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to the service including entry onto electronic spreadsheets and databases, and support information retrieval to support reports and data analysis.
· Any other duties appropriate to the post and in accordance with the requirements GAMH

General
· Take responsibility for and keep up to date with current practice and maintain records of your own personal and professional development, according to legal and organisational requirements.
· Ensure that the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Codes of Practice are always complied with.
· Attend regular supervision with your line manager.
· Participate in team and staff meetings as required, and attend other meetings as requested.
· Engage in training as necessary to support the role.
· At all times maintain the professional integrity and reputation of the Charity and represent their main interests in any dealings with other bodies, groups, and individuals.
· Participate in out-of-hours work as and when required.
· To perform any other duties and responsibilities consistent with the post as directed by the Carers Service Manager

· Ensure that you are aware of and comply with GAMH policies, procedures and practices designed to protect the health, safety, and security of all employees.
