This position is being offered as an apprenticeship. Applicants will have a keen interest in construction and quality and will have worked in a customer-focused role. The successful applicant will be required to complete a recognised Diploma through the Abri apprenticeship scheme.
Here at Abri, we’re determined to do our part in tackling the housing crisis by building at least 1,000 homes a year. To support our ambitious targets, we’re looking for a Development Quality Officer to support Abri's drive for quality in construction and to improve the customer experience in new build homes. You’ll play a key role in our Development team by completing quality inspections at different stages of the build and working closely with key stakeholders across the team.
With a keen eye for detail, a passion for a job well done, and an aptitude for technical detail, you’ll take the initiative to highlight any quality issues, poor workmanship, or site concerns relating to the build. Our homes must be built to the highest standards, but will also have targets and timescales attached to them, so good communication with other teams is essential to be successful in this role.
You’ll be working with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, including our development partners, so being able to quickly build strong working relationships is a must.
We have ambitious goals, but through your decisiveness, persuasiveness, and the ability to find creative solutions, you’ll help deliver on exciting corporate strategy and make a huge impact at Abri that won’t go unnoticed.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team as ambitious, dynamic, and committed as you are. If this is the challenge you’ve been looking for, we’d love to hear from you!
Make sure to apply quickly in order to maximise your chances of being considered for an interview.
Abri is a large housing provider who owns and manages over 50,000 homes and various community assets, serving 114,000 customers. Silva Homes joined Abri in October 2023, making the group a financially stronger and more resilient organisation. To help deliver our services, Abri works with 36 local authorities and 63 different parliamentary constituencies alongside partners in our community.
Silva will operate as a separate legal entity under the Abri Group umbrella before fully transferring in 2024. We believe everyone has the right to a good quality, safe, warm, and sustainable home in a community where they can belong, grow, and thrive. What does that look like in real terms?
We’re investing £689m over the next ten years in our existing homes to improve building safety and make them more energy efficient.
* We’re delivering 10,000 homes by 2030, ensuring affordable housing is built where it’s needed most.
* We’re investing in our communities to address local issues and create opportunities for everyone.
As we grow, we’re re-establishing our strong local presence to provide a really good service. Abri has adopted a regional approach to service delivery, with our operating areas split into three, each with their local governance and leadership. This will ensure our colleagues are more visible, accountable, and better connected to our customers and local communities to meet their diverse needs.
