About the role
Hours: 37.5 hours per week usually worked 5 out of 7 days to include bank holidays and weekends.
Our retail outlets provide 29% of much-needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide care to the people of North Derbyshire. The hospice has 17 retail shops, one furniture warehouse a donation centre, two clearance shops and two coffee shops! We also have an online eBay/Amazon platform and an online furniture store. It’s a big operation! We are looking for an Area Support Manager to join our Retail Operations team.

The main responsibilities include:
* Supporting the performance of a number of retail locations on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, working with Retail Managers to identify areas of income generation opportunity, maximising income and profitability of the Ashgate Hospice Retail Operation.
* Supporting and promoting a respectful, compassionate and inclusive workplace culture by living and upholding Ashgate values and behaviors in daily activities ensuring that all staff and volunteers feel valued and heard.
* Contributing to the leadership and management of team members, fostering a collaborative environment where team members support each other in overcoming challenges and achieving goals.

About you:
You will be an integral member of the Retail Operations team, demonstrating excellence in their approach to leadership and decision-making. You will focus on maximising the income generated by Retail teams, ensuring that these operations are profitable and efficient. You will encourage and coach the development of your direct reports, supporting and encouraging decision making and problem-solving scenarios.
Skills and experience required:
* Excellent people management and leadership skills with the proven ability to manage and motivate others to achieve exceptional results.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and volunteers at all levels and from a wide variety of backgrounds
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written communication) with the ability to summarise and present ideas and information to influence at all levels.
* An ability to work independently, self-motivate and prioritise own tasks and time. Also, able to take direction and work collaboratively with others.
* Experience of multi-site retail management in a charity or commercial retail organisation.
* Proven track record of achieving income targets in charity retail or comparable environments.
* Knowledge of health & safety and retail legislation
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle during work times.
