As Product Development Manager you'll be the business lead for the creation and ongoing evolution of MIB product roadmaps, aligning with MIB’s strategy, and with key industry database roadmaps as a priority. You'll use the roadmaps as a key tool to ensure that MIB products and services continue to evolve to meet industry and customer requirements, working cross-functionally to achieve that goal.
Key Responsibilities
* To take the core outputs of the MIB strategy and develop a series of roadmaps to outline the development plan for MIB’s key industry products and services for the next 5 years.
* To focus on the uninsured driving prevention, and data service strategic ambitions as a priority to ensure the inflight and new initiatives are aligned.
* To contribute meaningfully to the development of business case and benefit cases so as to secure buy-in of strategic initiatives, along with mechanisms to track benefit realisation.
* To be the business lead for the creation of the product roadmaps and the development thereafter, in collaboration with Heads of product, product managers and owners to ensure consistency is achieved.
* To work with the Product teams and other key operational areas to ensure initiatives are sequenced and documented on the roadmaps, working with Programme teams in technology and change to ensure roadmaps align and dependencies are clear.
* To work with the business and IS to help establish and maintain a clear and current picture of our ‘as-is’ landscape of products and services, and work collaboratively on ‘to-be’ views if required to ensure planning alignment is achieved.
* In collaboration with wider teams (CRM as a priority), ensure that customers from a representation of the industry have the opportunity to engage with the process and to enable current and future requirements to be captured appropriately.
* To act as a conduit between the business and IS ensuring that the business has an understanding of new and emerging technology and trends and patterns, which will influence product development.
* In conjunction with colleagues and customers, identifying priorities and benefits as well as opportunities for synchronisation and consolidation to optimise planning and delivery effort.
Qualifications and Education
Skills and Knowledge
* Experience developing and maintaining product roadmaps, ideally in insurance or financial service industries.
* Experience of product development within the insurance or financial services market in a product manager, or product owner role.
* Experience of stakeholder management, including delivering presentations to groups of varying sizes and up to c-suite.
* Experience in developing financial and customer experience-led business cases.
* Significant business agility capability and use of core product tools (KanBan, DevOps, Jira etc) with a clear understanding of how epics, features and user story development are core to product management delivery.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and emerging ideas to a broad audience.
* Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
* Self-reliant, ability to work without supervision.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum depending on experience
FTC for 12 months
Grade 13
35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
