Suffolk County Council are looking for an Assistant Flood and Water Project Manager. Your role and responsibilities
As an Assistant Flood and Water Project Manager you will playing a key role in reducing flood risk for the people of Suffolk by:
project managing small scale works, to reduce identified flood risk, managing partnership finance, contractors and liaising with partners and the public
working collaboratively with agencies, developers, communities, businesses and landowners to continuously develop, update and improve the understanding of local flood risk and prioritise new project development
carrying out statutory investigations of flood events and producing reports with recommendations for action
collecting information of features / structures / drainage assets likely to have a significant effect on flood risk and contribute to the process of getting them in included on the flood risk asset register.
You will need:
to be educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant subject
project management skills and experience to lead the design and delivery of solutions to flood risk, working with partner organisations, contractors and communities
the ability to assess complex situations, influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders to achieve appropriate solutions and make recommendations to decision makers
to possess a working knowledge and the application of relevant legislation, policies and best practice for the management of surface water and flood risk
excellent communication and time management skills.
