An exciting new opportunity has arisen in the Occupational Therapy department for an amputee specialist.
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to work with a highly specialised amputee rehabilitation service in an inpatient setting.
This role will allow you to develop a long term vision for the amputee Therapy team and to develop the service in a way that reflects that vision including the regional hub model.
The role involves close working with the MDT as well as senior leaders within the division. There will also be close working with senior leadership in Occupational Therapy with the opportunity to deliver the OT strategy and vision.
The Occupational Therapy department offers opportunities to take part in a research symposium and opportunities for innovation in an ever changing environment.
There are ample leadership development opportunities. You will supervise and appraise members of the team and support the development of junior staff.
Main duties of the job
* To provide highly specialised acute and early rehabilitation to Amputee patients including pre-operative assessments.
* To provide outreach support for Amputee patients within the hospital.
* To support and work alongside other members of the Occupational Therapy team and ensure delivery of the highest possible standard of service including teaching of less experienced staff and students.
* To work alongside team leads in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Occupational Therapy service on a day-to-day basis.
* To be an integral part of the highly specialised amputee rehabilitation service, working alongside the amputee multidisciplinary team, including Consultants, specialist Nurses and specialist AHPs.
* To develop a long term vision for the amputee Therapy team and to develop the service in a way that reflects that vision including the regional hub model.

Qualifications
Essential
* Occupational Therapist registered with Health and Social Care Professions Council
* Degree or Diploma of Occupational Therapy
* Practise placement student educator
* Evidence of relevant C.P.D in line with HCPC guidelines
* Working to a level of expertise, knowledge and judgement commensurate with MSc
Desirable
* Member of R.C.O.T.
* Evidence of further study / research in clinical specialty
* Member of relevant Special Interest Group / Specialist section
* Evidence of management / leadership training
* MSc Level qualification

* Significant recent experience in Amputees
* Substantial experience at Band 6 level demonstrating a broad range of experience, including acute hospital and a wide range of rotations
