The role

This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Workforce Planning and Insights Department as a Workforce Planning Manager (Capability).
As a Workforce Planning Manager (Capability) you will lead the workforce planning function, ensuring all capability aspects are delivered effectively. This role involves informing strategic priorities, implementing financial strategies, and meeting resource requirements.
The goal is to provide the Force with accurate plans and forecasts, enabling the appropriate development of the workforce across the entire organisation.
What you’ll do
1. Manage and Oversee Data: Ensure accurate and detailed representation of all skills available within the force, addressing emerging and forecast skill gaps through effective solutions.
2. Workforce Analysis and Forecasting: Conduct comprehensive analysis, forecasting, and modelling of workforce capabilities, skills, and competencies, integrating these with resourcing, deployment, and financial planning to anticipate short, medium, and long-term skill requirements.
3. Advisory Functions: Deliver effective planning and advisory services across the organization to enhance workforce capability and wellbeing.
4. Staff Management and Development: Oversee recruitment, appraisal, development, and performance of allocated staff, ensuring they possess the necessary skills, knowledge, behaviours, and experience to excel in their roles and reach their full potential.
5. Collaborative Work: Partner with the People Department and Finance to identify, manage, and maintain workforce development routes and career pathways, ensuring alignment with force aims and objectives.
6. Strategic Partnership: Foster collaboration throughout the organisation by identifying opportunities for joint activities, reducing duplication of effort, and increasing return on investment.
