Highly Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist
As part of the Provide multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver a comprehensive paediatric occupational therapy service for children in education who present with developmental concerns. You will work with children and their families in their educational setting and any other appropriate settings, including within the children's centre.
Your role will involve contributing to the organisation, planning, and development of the occupational therapy service for this care group, as well as participating in setting care standards and monitoring service quality and referral/waiting times.
It is required that you own a car, hold a full clean driving licence, and have appropriate insurance.
The Paediatric Occupational Therapy team is a well-established, friendly, and dynamic group, committed to offering the best services possible to our families. Integrated working across education, social care, and health is well developed, and you will have the opportunity to work with children from school age, including offering virtual appointments. The service provides excellent experience with training opportunities, regular supervision, and appraisals.
Main Duties of the Job
You will gain consent and undertake occupational therapy assessments, clinically diagnose, formulate, and implement treatment plans using your specialist knowledge and experience. You will utilize knowledge of a wide range of paediatric conditions and treatment modalities to interpret and analyze clinical facts, employing advanced clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to form accurate diagnoses and recommend the best course of intervention.
As a Band 7 practitioner, you will have a critical awareness of knowledge issues in the field and at the interface between different fields. You will be innovative and responsible for developing and changing practice/services in a complex and unpredictable environment. You will perform a highly complex role and have management responsibilities for a work area.
