About Our Client
A new opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join a successful organisation based in Godalming.
Job Description
1. In conjunction with the Head of Finance, prepare a detailed annual budget.
2. Provide timely and accurate budget forecasts to the agreed schedule and advise on variations.
3. Ensure financial records are up-to-date.
4. Manage the payroll, including PAYE, NI.
5. Ensure the necessary payments are made to HMRC including the preparation of all necessary returns.
6. Manage, update and maintain the statutory Value Added Tax, National Insurance and Pay As You Earn records, liaising as necessary with HMRC.
7. Manage the sales ledger process in respect of services and other ad hoc invoices as required and ensure all sums are received according to Financial Regulations.
8. Oversee the purchase ordering and purchase ledger function.
9. Prepare regular schedules of payments made for submission and ensure all such payments are made promptly once approved.
10. Manage, update and maintain appropriate banking arrangements and carry out regular bank reconciliations as required.
11. Manage, update and maintain all bank mandates.
12. Prepare the annual report and supporting accounts for audit, liaising as necessary with the appointed external and internal auditors.
The Successful Applicant
1. Candidates must have experience within a similar role.
2. May be studying towards an accountancy qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA); study support provided.
3. Ability to secure good working relationships with stakeholders.
4. Good MS Excel skills.
5. Excellent numeric, written and oral skills.
