Job Description:
Due to internal career progression, we are currently seeking a Back of House Skills Trainer to join us on a permanent contract. The BOH training team is part of our Learning, Leadership & Inclusion team and will play a crucial part in the delivery of Marston's strategy to be the #1 Local Pub Company in the UK. The ideal candidate will be passionate about learning & development, driven for excellence, and eager to contribute to the success of Marston's.
In this role, you'll be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of delivering learning solutions focused on BOH operations that meet the needs of the business. You will be involved in the development and execution of training, delivering via a face-to-face, digital, or blended approach. As part of this role, you'll be collaborating with various stakeholders including the Menu Development team, Commercial Marketing team, and our Operations team. To succeed in this role, you'll be people-centric, with a passion for hospitality, a confident public speaker and natural coach with a talent for building relationships at all levels. Nationwide travel is required, so you will need to hold a full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Passionate about learning and development with a keen interest in personal development
* Strong organisational and project management skills
* Friendly and approachable
* Thrives in dynamic environments and adjusts quickly to new challenges
* Proactive in finding solutions to meet evolving business needs
* Leadership experience in the hospitality/Back of house/food focused business (preferably in a high-volume pub or bar environment)
* Confident in presenting to groups and delivering face-to-face, digital or in a blended environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to tailor communication and build rapport to influence and partner with a range of stakeholders
* A full driving licence, willingness to travel nationwide with access to a vehicle
* Knowledge of Power BI, Reputation & Beanstore/EPOS systems
* Understanding of policies and practices related to the hospitality industry such as food safety laws, EHO, and stock management
* Proficiency in Microsoft packages
