Fixed- term contract 12 months, per week.
We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic clinical psychologist to work within a busy and well respected Community Learning Disability Team. This part-time post is based in the Chorley & South Ribble team however the post holder will be expected to work across the Central Locality, covering Greater Preston, Chorley & South Ribble and West Lancashire (Ormskirk base). Previous experience of working with adults with Learning Disabilities is essential. This is an exciting time for our service which has experienced considerable investment during the past years and we have expanded by circa 25%. Developments include the formation of a dedicated LD Intensive Support Team that works alongside all our community teams and enhancement of multi-disciplinary teams in all areas. We are also currently developing an inpatient facility for adults with learning disability that require mental health treatment.
Main duties of the job
LSCFT provides the majority of NHS commissioned community services for people with Learning Disabilities, Autism or both across the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS). The Learning Lisability service employs almost 200 multi-disciplinary staff and has 16 teams across the ICS.
In the Central locality, you will make a major contribution to the service and take a clinical lead role within the Chorley & South Ribble team. You will be expected to provide psychological assessment and intervention in a variety of settings and provide consultation, training and supervision to the wider MDT on the psychological care of adults with a Learning Disability. As an 8b you will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical leadership and service development activities. There may also be opportunities for service related research and development
You will receive regular clinical & professional supervision from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and you will also benefit from being a member of the Learning Disability Psychology Specialty as well as the wider Psychological Professions Community within the Trust.
The Trust has close links with the Lancaster University Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and provides placements for trainees from Lancaster,Manchester and Liverpool. There is an expectation that you would be in a position to supervise a Trainee if approached.

Education
Essential
1. Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
Desirable
2. Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
Knowledge
Essential
3. Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology.
4. Knowledge of legislation, and its implications in relation to the client group and mental health.
5. Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS by completion of CPD log demonstrating a minimum of 40 hours per year.
Experience

6. Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
7. Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and their families, in a clinically relevant setting.
8. Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment both as a professionally qualified care co-ordinator and also within the context of multidisciplinary care plan.
