About the role
Reporting into the Head of Fleet Sales, the Key Account Manager plays a critical role in maintaining and developing relationships with major fleet customers. This role is responsible for understanding customer needs, providing tailored solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction, thereby contributing to the company’s fleet sales goals and overall business success.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key fleet customers, including corporations, government entities, and leasing companies, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
Address customer needs and concerns promptly while collaborating with the Head of Fleet Sales and other Fleet Sales Managers to ensure a consistent approach to relationship management.
Business Development
Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts to expand the company’s reach and drive revenue growth.
Develop and present tailored proposals and solutions that address customer needs and align with company objectives, negotiating contracts that deliver mutual benefits.
Sales Performance & Reporting:
Track and monitor sales performance against targets, regularly analysing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present detailed sales reports and forecasts to the Head of Fleet Sales, proposing corrective actions to address any gaps in performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, and Dealer Network Development, to ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
Facilitate effective communication between departments to optimise fleet sales strategies and enhance customer satisfaction.
Customer Support & Service:
Provide high-level support to address and resolve complex customer inquiries, ensuring satisfaction and long-term retention.
Collaborate with After-Sales teams to address post-sales issues, ensuring smooth service delivery and a positive customer experience.
Compliance & Ethical Standards:
Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and ethical business practices.
Foster a culture of integrity and accountability within the team and when engaging with external partners.
Experience to succeed
At least 5 years of experience in automotive sales, with significant experience in fleet sales and key account management.
Proven track record of successfully managing key accounts and achieving sales targets.
Deep knowledge of the automotive industry, particularly in fleet operations, customer service, and strategic partnerships.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, International Business or a related field.
Strong understanding of fleet sales principles and practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and prioritize effectively.
Relationship management skills to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
Experienced supporting a sizeable, fast-moving business.
Experience with automotive manufacturing or EVs is a bonus.
